FCA’s Board of Directors elected two new members at its January meeting. Joining the Board are Cynthia Malatesta, Vice President of Underwriting and Marketing at ADB Insurance Services Financial in Redwood City and Janice Oringer, President of the Oringer Foundation. In addition to their professional skills, both Ms. Malatesta and Ms. Oringer bring an understanding of caregiver issues to their service on the Board. Ms. Malatesta was a caregiver to her mother for many years and Ms. Oringer, an RN and MFCC, worked with caregivers as a family consultant at FCA and later in private practice.
Ms. Malatesta and Ms. Oringer join continuing members Jean Coleman, R.N., M.S., N.P., Clinical Program Administrator at the University of California, Davis/Martinez Alzheimer’s Research Center; Claude Everhart, CEO of The Everhart Company; Kevin Koppes, an Underwriting Consultant for Aetna; Kathryn Lee (Board Secretary) an Educational Therapist with the San Mateo County Office of Education, Secondary Education Services for Special Needs Students; William J. Lynch, Ph.D., (Board President), formerly the Program Chief of the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Palo Alto and now a neuropsychologist in private practice; Kathy Murphy (Board Vice President), Director, Network Business Development & Integration, WPP Group USA, Inc.; Margaret Wallhagen, Ph.D., R.N., C.S., G.N.P., Associate Professor, Gerontology Program, School of Nursing, University of California, San Francisco; and Sue Wong (Board Treasurer), Director of Administration & Finance at
