What software is required to play these audio files?

Mp3 audio files require a media player program such as Windows Media Player or Apple's QuickTime Player. These links have detailed instructions on how to download and install the media applications.

Most computers come with a media player already installed. To see if a player is installed on your computer, follow instructions 1-3 below.

What if I get a pop up window asking what the default application is for this file type?

  1. Select Other from the drop down box in the window.
  2. Browse to 'Program Files' (usually located on the C:\ drive.

My browser starts playing the file when I click the links, I'd like to save them for later.

To download and save the files on a PC, click the "download" link and select "Save Target As". On the Macintosh, hold the button down while the mouse is over the link, and when the menu comes up, select "Save Target As".

How do I open a zipped file?

If you're using Windows XP, then your operating system has built-in support for Zip files. They are described as "Compressed (zipped) folders." Just double-click on a Zip file and it will open in Explorer. Otherwise, you will need an application such as WinZip Extractor
