WA- Direct Care Worker Training and Background Checks (2011)

Starting in 2014, this bill would require long-term direct care workers to become certified in long-term care within 120 days of being hired through completing 75 hours of training and successful completion of a certification test. Long-term care workers will also have to undergo state and federal background checks. In addition, all long-term care workers will be required to complete 12 hours of continuing education every year.
