NC-Healthy Families & Workplaces/Paid Sick Days (2011)This bill would create paid leave in North Carolina. Eligible employees would accrue 1 hour of sick time for every 30 hours worked. For small businesses (10 or fewer employees during 20 or more calendar work weeks in the current or preceding calendar year), employees can accrue up to 32 hours of paid time in a calendar year, while employees at larger companies can accrue up to 56 hours of paid sick time in a calendar year.
