Caring Family Act (2008)

Federal bill would create a $3,000 tax credit for taxpayers providing care to family members and dependents with long-term care needs, for up to two such care recipients, who are 60 years or older. The amount of the new credit would decrease as a caregiver's modified adjusted gross income increases once he or she meets a certain threshold ($200,000 for a joint return, $100,000 for an individual).
