Legislators and long-term care experts from 40 states attended "Who Will Provide Care: Emerging Issues for State Policymakers," an invitational conference sponsored by the Family Caregiver AllianceNational Center on Caregiving, and funded by The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. The conference was held October 26th and 27th in San Francisco.

Critical topics under discussion included long-term care financing, workplace issues, impact of the Olmstead decision, workforce shortages, paying family members for care, legislative success stories, and more.

Speakers included: John Rother, Director of Legislation & Public Policy, AARP; Judith Feder, Ph.D., Professor & Dean of Policy Studies, Georgetown University; Hon. Mark C. Montigny, Senator, Massachusetts State Senate & Chair, Senate Ways & Means; Wendy Fox-Grage, Senior Policy Specialist, National Conference of State Legislatures; and Hon. Rebecca Cohn, Assemblymember, California State Assembly and Chair, Aging & Long-Term Care Committee.
