- General Information and Assistance

As a family caregiver, it may be difficult to know where to turn to find information on services available for your family member and yourself. The government agencies and other organizations listed in this section provide valuable information to help you get started. Some have specialized information on services for older people or adults with disabilities; others offer broader help. In addition to the programs listed in this section, you may want to contact local hospitals or employee assistance programs which often provide information and assistance to family caregivers.

You will also find programs specific to your state and national organizations directing you to local resources (availability of services and eligibility criteria may vary by state/locality).
