If using the telephone has become challenging for you or a loved one because of difficulty hearing, seeing, speaking, moving or remembering, the California Telephone Access Program (CTAP) has products and services available free of charge that can make using the phone easy again.
To qualify, you must be a California resident who has existing residential phone service and complete an application signed by a health professional.
If you work in a small business, you may be eligible for this equipment at your work site as well. Specialized equipment is available, including amplified telephones with loud ringers or a flashing light or vibrating device; TTY (telecommunications device with keyboard and visual display); large button phones; speech amplifiers; cordless phones; telephone headsets; and more.
