Family Caregiver Alliance Announces Activities
for National Family Caregivers Month in November
44 million family caregivers in this country provide the bulk of long-term care for those suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, stroke, Parkinson’s disease, and other debilitating disorders. To honor those caregivers, Family Caregiver Alliance and its National Center on Caregiving are pleased to announce exciting new events and publications in celebration of National Family Caregivers Month.
A collaboration between the federal Administration on Aging and the National Center on Caregiving at Family Caregiver Alliance, this Fact Sheet for consumers focuses on the urgent need for family caregivers to get immunized against flu, pneumonia and tetanus. Saturday, November 5: SALUTE TO FAMILY CAREGIVERS!
Conference and tribute to family caregivers and the 20th Anniversary of California’s Caregiver Resource Center system. Millennium Biltmore Hotel, 506 So. Grand Avenue, Los Angeles, 9 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Educational sessions with expert speakers, more than 400 caregivers, and a fanfare complete with trumpets and an emcee in black tie and tails! A 20-YEAR PARTNERSHIP IN CARING:
Anniversary report on the triumphs of California’s first-in-the-nation statewide network of Caregiver Resource Centers, now celebrating two decades of service to family caregivers. Features legislative history, policy and program innovations, and milestones achieved by the 11 CRCs. All Californians now have access to assistance.
