TX - Family Caregiver Information and Outreach and Guardianship (2009)

Bill would require the Department of Aging and Disability Services to coordinate public awareness outreach efforts regarding the role of informal caregivers and the support services available to them; to develop a form for identifying family caregivers during the process in which adults apply for long-term care services; to develop a caregiver assessment protocol; and to evaluate the needs of caregivers and to assess the effectiveness of services for them. The bill also includes provisions related to guardianship.
