Family and Medical Leave Expansion Act (2007)

Federal bill would provide five-year federal grants to state or local governments to pay for the federal share of the cost of implementing wage replacement. paid leave policies for new parents and family caregivers taking leave from work. The bill would also amend the FMLA by extending coverage to employees at worksites where the employer employs at least 25 (currently, 50) employees at the worksite and within 75 miles of that worksite. The bill has other provisions that provide leave to domestic violence victims, federal employees and parents of school-age children.
