Caring for Wounded Warriers Act (2008)

Federal bill would require the Department of Veteran's Affairs to establish a pilot program to provide training and certification to family caregivers as "personal care attendants" of veterans with traumatic brain injury. Caregivers with such certification would be eligible for compensation. That program would also offer assessments to family caregivers, followed up by referrals for services and support to help meet their needs. The bill would establish a second pilot program would train graduate students to provide respite care to families caring for servicemembers and veterans with TBI.
