Medical Bankruptcy Fairness Act (2009)Federal bill would, among other things, provide bankruptcy protections for caregivers who, within the last three years, experienced a downgrade in employment (reduction of pay, hours, or a loss of job) that resulted from caring for a relative or who, within the last year, incurred medical expenses for the care recipient which were more than either $10,000 or 25% of the household income.
