Senior Financial Empowerment Act (2011)

This bill is intended to prevent mail, telemarketing, and Internet fraud that is aimed at seniors in the U.S. The Federal Trade Commission is directed to disseminate information to seniors, families, and caregivers of seniors, general information on fraud, including how and where to report fraud, including a national toll-free phone number established by the FTC for reporting fraud. If a party asks the FTC about a specific person and fraud, the FTC will provide information on any publicly available information on any record of law enforcement action for fraud against that party. The FTC is also directed to maintain a website as a resource of information for seniors, families, and caregivers about mail, telemarketing, and internet fraud.
