CT- Paid Sick Leave (2011)

This bill would require companies with 50 or more employees to offer paid sick leave. While the law covers the estimated 200,000 to 400,000 service workers who receive an hourly wage, it exempts manufacturing companies, nationally chartered nonprofit organization, day laborers, independent contractors and temporary workers. An employee will be able to earn one hour of paid sick time for every 40 hours worked, however, it is capped at five days a year.
