Family caregiver support: Policies, perceptions and practices in 10 states since passage of the National Family Caregiver Support Program (2002)This report summarizes the preliminary experiences of 10 states in providing caregiver support services soon after the passage of the NFCSP. Those ten states include AL, CA, FL, HI, IN, IA, ME, PA, TX, and WA. It identifies commonalities and differences among the states, highlights crosscutting themes, and presents the individual state profiles that describe each state's approach to providing support services to family caregivers. The study, which used the key informant method of extensive in-person interviews with state officials and major stakeholders, focused on caregivers services administered under the newly created NFCSP, Medicaid waivers, state general funds and other state funding streams.
