Community Care for the Aged and Disabled (CCAD)

The CCAD program is a non-Medicaid program that assists elderly or disabled persons to remain living at home or within the community. This program allows certain family members, excluding spouses and legal guardians, to be paid as the personal care provider. Services may include:

  • Adult foster care
  • Adult day care
  • Emergency response services
  • Home delivered meals
  • Personal care services

Caregiver Eligibility: 

Anyone (excluding spouses)

Care Recipient Eligibility: 

-Must be a resident of Texas

-Must be at least 18+

-Must be disabled or require significant physical assistance

-Must meet financial guidelines

-Cannot be receiving same services from Medicaid program
