Printer-friendly version

This spring FCA was contacted by Ceridian, a leading Employee Assistance Program that provides resources to millions of employees nationwide, seeking a caregiver participant for their resource podcast titled “How a Support Group Helped Me.”

Family Consultant Hilda Uribe-Escobar thought of Blanca, one of the participants at Family Caregiver Alliance’s El Grupo de Apoyo en Español (Support Group in Spanish) who meets each month in San Francisco's Bernal Heights neighborhood.

Blanca is the fourth speaker on the podcast (at 7:15). As the caregiver for her husband with Alzheimer's disease, she has participated in El Grupo de Apoyo en Español for seven years. Blanca’s words: “... It's a sharing program, it helps a lot.” For more information on FCA support groups, visit caregiver.org/support-groups.

“Try it, just try it! You will know it is nothing to be afraid of.”

─ Blanca
