Family Caregiver Alliance (FCA), with the ongoing support of The Rosalinde and Arthur Gilbert Foundation, is pleased to announce that online applications for the 2015 Gilbert Innovations in Alzheimer's Disease Caregiving Legacy Awards are now open.

This will be the eighth year the $20,000 prize has been awarded in each of three categories: Creative Expression, Diverse / Multicultural Communities, and Policy and Advocacy.

A sample of  past winners include the Tales & Travel Memories project of the Gail Borden Public Library in Elgin, Illinois; the Wilder Foundation public awareness campaign in St. Paul, Minnesota, titled What is a Caregiver?; and the African Descent / Somali Family Caregivers Bridge Program of the African American Alzheimer’s and Wellness Association in Columbus, Ohio.

You can read more about all past winners and visit their online scrapbook at the Gilbert Awards information page here:

PLEASE NOTE: Apply today! The deadline for applications is Friday, September 18, 2015. Keep in mind that each $20,000 Gilbert Innovations in Alzheimer's Disease Caregiving Legacy Award is a program award to honor accomplishments; not a grant for future programming.

Award recipients will be notified in late December 2015 and they will be honored at the 2016 Annual Conference of the American Society on Aging (ASA). Participants will be invited to present information about their program at the conference. For more information, please carefully review the information page.
