Caring for a Parent with Dementia
As a doctoral student in the Community Care & Counseling: School of Behavioral Sciences at Liberty University, I am conducting research as a part of the requirements for my dissertation for a Doctor of Education in Community Care & Counseling: Traumatology. The title of my research is caring for a parent(s) with dementia. My research aim is to better understand the lived experience of African American adult sons who are caregivers to a parent with dementia, and I am writing to invite eligible participants to join my study.
To participate in this study, you have to be an African American adult son who previously was or currently is a caregiver to your parent who suffer with dementia. Participants, if willing, will be asked 25 questions that will take about 35 to 45 minutes. Participation will be completely anonymous, and no personal, identifying information will be collected.
Participation in this study is voluntary and you may stop at any time. The interview will be a one-on-one interview via zoom or phone.
