Improve Hospital Care for Adults living with Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias (ADRD) and their Care Partners
We are seeking input on how to improve hospital care from recently (within the last year) hospitalized adults living with dementia and their care partners (family members or friends). Many hospitals do not have standard processes to identify care partners, assess their preferences and needs, or educate them on caregiving tasks. As a result, dementia care partners often feel unsure about how to best support their family member or friend once they leave the hospital.
We are seeking adults living with dementia who have been hospitalized in the last year and/or their care partners to participate in one, 30–60-minute Zoom interview followed by two brief online surveys to share their experiences with hospital care. Participants will receive a total of $100 for participation in this study. If interested in participating in this study, please email ghsrl@education.wisc.edu or call the Geriatric Health Services Research Lab at 608-263-7975.
