How does it work?

Caring for You, Caring for Me: Education and Support for Family and Professional Caregivers

Caring for You, Caring for Me is a 10-hour program, conducted in five two-hour modules and addresses the needs of family and professional caregivers. Caregivers learn: ways of coping with caregiving; resources available and how to access them; ways to share common concerns and issues. A one-day workshop trains professionals interested in delivering this intervention.

It's not easy balancing your caregiving role and other parts of your life when you care for someone with a chronic health condition such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's or stroke. Powerful Tools for Caregivers is a FREE, six-week class (1 day a week) giving caregivers invaluable tools to help reduce stress, make difficult decisions, communicate more effectively in challenging situations, and most importantly, prevent caregiver burnout!

Herramientas Para Cuidadores (Alzheimer's Association)

Herramientas para Cuidadores is a psychoeducational training series teaching coping skills to distressed Latino caregivers of someone with Alzheimer's disease in order to improve the quality of life of the caregiver and the quality of care for the person with dementia.

Quality Improvement in Dementia Care

This pilot project provides caregivers of dementia patients a separate time for education and support with a dementia counselor during the patients' clinic visits. Follow-up counseling for the caregiver is also available.
