Maine Elderly and Adults with Disabilities Waiver

Maine’s Elderly and Adults with Disabilities Waiver program is a Medicaid (MaineCare) program that assists older adults and persons with disabilities to remain living at home. This program offers consumer direction, meaning, the care recipient can choose to self-direct their care to a person of their own choosing. This person may be a family member, excluding spouses and legal guardians. Services may include:

  • Personal attendant services
  • Assistive technology
  • Communication aids
  • Counseling and consultation
  • Non-medical transportation
  • Respite care
  • Home modifications
