New Mexico Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV): Older adults

The DMV is required to investigate the self-reported health conditions, reports received from law enforcement, and medical professionals. If a medical evaluation is required the primary physician has the decision to either preserve or revoke driving privileges. The “Medical Report” form is available HERE.

License renewal occurs every 5 or 8 years intervals. Older adults (75+) must renew their license every year.
