Share Your Caregiving Story

What were the most important things you learned from your caregiving experience?

How do we learn best, if not from the stories of others . . . taking in their wisdom, noting their mistakes made, using the resources they stumbled upon along their journey's path?

FCA is helping practiced family caregivers share experiences with those new to caregiving—a life task that can often feel quite isolating.

We will post the best caregiver stories submitted to us in the "Caregiver Connect" section of our new website—a place for caregivers to seek and offer advice (and in the near future, to ask questions, leave comments, and discuss resources). We are seeking well-written and compelling stories (a good goal is 500-600 words)—especially those accompanied by a photo of caregiver/author and their family-member/care recipient. [We encourage detailing your unique situation—caring for a veteran, being a young caregiver, etc.]

Thank you for your willingness to participate. Now go get into your story-telling mode . . . !

Ideal: 400-600 words (4-6 medium-length paragraphs). Be descriptive, add details, be honest with emotion, etc.
