American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA)

The APDA provides local resources such as support groups, educational programs, and resources to adults living with Parkinson's disease and their loved ones. 

Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV): Older adults

Drivers are required to self-report medical conditions that may impede their driving skills. The DMV is required to investigate the self-reported conditions, reports received from law enforcement, and medical professionals. Drivers are then required to provide adequate documentation from their primary physician to obtain or renew their license. 

Georgia Community Care Services Program

Georgia's Community Care Services Program is a Medicaid waiver that is intended to assist older adults or individuals with physical disability to remain living at home. While this program offers "consumer direction", a family member being hired and compensated as a caregiver is rare in Georgia. Services may include: 

-Adult Day Health

-24 hour care personal care supervision

-Emergency Response Services

-Home-delivered Meals

-Skilled nursing services in the home

-Respite Care

-Personal Support Services

Benefits.gov - Georgia

Benefits.gov (formerly GovBenefits.gov) was launched in an effort to provide citizens with easy, online access to government benefit and assistance programs. Eight years after its initial launch, GovBenefits.gov underwent a major redesign and became Benefits.gov. However, the program's mission remains the same: reduce the expense and difficulty of interacting with the government while increasing citizen access to government benefit information.

GA Department of Veterans Service

Offers information on services and benefits for Veterans.

Georgia Division of Aging Services

Provides adults aged 60 and over with legal representation, information and education in civil legal matters. Program services include free: Legal information, counseling, case representation, and education.

Atlanta Legal Aid Society

Referrals and legal representation to low income, minority, and the elderly.  Senior Citizens Law Project: Program for those aged 60 and over that provide aid in solving income and health care benefits.
