Vol. 5, No.7

"I have come to believe that caring for myself is not self indulgent. Caring for myself is an act of survival."
- Audre Lorde

Summer is the time when many people head out on vacations; but for most caregivers, getting away for even a couple of hours can be challenging. Finding time to take of yourself is difficult but necessary when you're a family caregiver. When you spend even ten minutes going for a walk, sitting outside, or talking to a friend, you'll replenish your energy levels. In this issue of Connections, we have included helpful information on self-care for caregivers, including a fact sheet, upcoming events where you can connect with others, and articles that offer guidance to caregivers.

Sincerely,

AJ Dugay
(Education Coordinator)
