Scams targeting older and dependent adults

Cassie Villar has been with San Mateo County for 25 years. Previously, she was with the Department of Children and Family Services for 21 years. She’s currently an Adult Protective Services (APS) Training & Outreach Specialist who provides trainings on elder and dependent adult abuse including scam prevention.

She will discuss scams targeting older & dependent adults and give tips on how to avoid becoming a victim. Mrs. Villar will also discuss elder and dependent adult abuse and give a multidisciplinary approach to helping victims of neglect and/or crime.

This class is funded by Alameda County Department of Adult and Aging Services, Contra Costa County Area Agency on Aging, the City of San Francisco’s Department of Disability and Aging Services, San Mateo County Aging & Disability Services, Sourcewise, and the California Department of Aging.
