Announcing Best Programs for Caregiving

April 8, 2024

We are thrilled to share some exciting news about Best Programs for Caregiving (formerly Best Practice Caregiving). This go-to online directory of top dementia caregiving programs now features a brand-new portal just for friend and family caregivers, empowering them to find and directly access programs and support for dementia caregiving.

This free directory features details about nearly 50 top-rated dementia support programs across the U.S., including local availability, program outcomes and enrollment info. No login or account needed — dementia caregivers can go to the site to find support immediately.

Connecting caregivers with the right support

On the BPC home page, caregivers enter their zip code to:

  • Find programs offered in-person, online or by phone.
  • Identify programs to reduce caregiver stress & improve well-being.
  • Learn skills & techniques to gain confidence in caregiving.
  • Find programs in multiple languages and/or that serve caregivers of diverse races, ethnicities & sexual orientations.

Helping professionals help more caregivers

BPC’s database for professionals is accessible right from the home page as well. For professionals looking to adopt vetted, implementation-ready programs to better serve their clients, BPC is a one-stop, single source of information to:

  • Identify best-fit programs & compare them by features & outcomes.
  • Review real-world experiences of organizations that have implemented BPC programs.
  • Understand the training, staffing, resource & cost requirements for program adoption & implementation.
  • Get a 360 view of programs including features & focus, costs, outcomes, research & evidence base, enrollment & eligibility instructions & more.
  • See research findings & program developer contact info for all programs.

The new Best Programs for Caregiving directory for caregivers is an extension of the database launched in 2020 for professionals and organizations serving dementia caregivers (then called Best Practice Caregiving) and for the first time puts detailed information about the top evidence-based programs for dementia caregiving directly into the hands of family and friend caregivers who need it the most.

Please help us share this free, powerful resource with dementia caregivers and your professional peers and organizations that support them. We’ve made sharing easy by creating this toolkit of ready-to-use materials including flyers, articles, social media posts and more.

Best Programs for Caregiving is a collaboration between Benjamin Rose Institute on Aging and Family Caregiver Alliance, with generous support from The John A. Hartford FoundationArchstone Foundation and RRF Foundation for Aging.
