California Caregivers, Are You Prepared for an Emergency?
June 18, 2025
When disaster strikes, every minute counts. Whether it’s fire, earthquake, or other devastating events, family caregivers must act quickly to take care of themselves and the people they care for.
That’s why Family Caregiver Alliance has teamed up with ListosCalifornia, a California emergency preparedness initiative, to offer tools and information you need to respond effectively in an emergency.
Sign up for disaster alerts in your county
One of the first things you can do to prepare for emergencies is sign up for alerts from your county or local officials.
ListosCalifornia offers an easy sign-up page for free alerts that will tell you when there is possible danger, a natural disaster, or an emergency and what you should do to stay safe. You can choose to receive alerts via text, email, phone call, and in some cases, TTY devices.
