California Caregivers, Are You Prepared for an Emergency?

June 18, 2025

Three photos of people. One elderly person is being moved in a wheelchair. Another shows an elderly woman sitting in a car. The last photo shows a man in his 20's packing a bag.

When disaster strikes, every minute counts. Whether it’s fire, earthquake, power outages or other devastating events, family caregivers must act quickly to take care of themselves and the people they care for.

That’s why Family Caregiver Alliance has teamed up with Listos California, a California emergency preparedness initiative, to offer tools and information you need to respond effectively in an emergency.

Register for our free, Disaster Readiness Webinar for Family Caregivers

How prepared are you, as a caregiver, for the next emergency or natural disaster? If there’s a wildfire nearby, how will you protect someone who can’t safely evacuate on their own? When a citywide power outage plunges your neighborhood into darkness, how will you keep oxygen flowing, medications cold and medical equipment running?

For answers to these questions and more, join our free, disaster readiness webinar designed specifically for family caregivers. We’ll share key considerations for caregivers supporting people with limited mobility, cognitive impairment or power-dependent medical equipment and refrigerated medication. Presentation includes an interactive presentation and live Q&A.
