Are you a surrogate or healthcare agent listed on a living will for your loved one living with cancer?
Are you serving as a surrogate or healthcare agent on a living will or power of attorney for your loved one with cancer? Researchers at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) are conducting a research study to develop a website that can help people with cancer complete a living will with their family caregivers.
You may be eligible if you:
-Are at least 18 years of age
-Have a loved one living with cancer who complete an advance directive
-Are listed as a surrogate for healthcare decisions on your loved one’s advance directive, such as
a living will, power of attorney, or other forms
-Have access to the internet on a phone, personal laptop/computer, or publicly available
computer
-Are able to read and respond to questions in English with minimal assistance from others for
interpretation
What does study participation involve?
In this study, you will be asked to:
- Fill out a short demographic survey.
- Participate in a 60-minute, audio and video recorded interview over Zoom or in-person at UIC,
with/without your loved one who has cancer.
You will receive $75 cash or an Amazon gift card after completing the interview.
