Are you an African American adult caring for your parent?

We invite you to participate in an important research study exploring the experiences of African American adults who provide care for their aging parents.

About the Study
This research examines how caregiver identity, cultural values, resilience, faith, and spirituality influence the well-being of African American caregivers. We recognize that caregiving in the African American community is shaped by unique cultural traditions, family values, and spiritual practices. Your experiences and insights are invaluable to understanding how these factors support caregiver well-being.

We’re Looking For:

  • African American adults (18+)
  • Currently helping a parent
  • Have been providing care or help to a parent for at least 3 months

What’s Involved:
Participation includes completing a confidential survey about your caregiving experiences,
cultural perspectives on family care, sources of strength and resilience, religious practices, and overall well-being. Your responses will help researchers better understand the protective factors that support African American caregivers and inform culturally-responsive support services.

Why Participate?
Your voice matters. By sharing your story, you’ll contribute to research that honors the cultural strengths within African American caregiving and helps develop better resources for families like yours.
