Are you the family caregiver of a stroke survivor looking to improve your mental well-being? Please join us!

I am John Yiu, a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) student at the Wright Institute in Berkeley, California. As part of my dissertation research, I am inviting family caregivers of stroke survivors to join an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)-based therapy group. In this five-week, 1.5-hour group, you will learn skills to: 1) cope with the distress of daily caregiving responsibilities; and 2) build a life consistent with your values while caring for your loved one. You will also receive peer support from fellow caregivers. This therapy group (valued at US$150) is completely FREE. Participants who achieve 80% attendance and complete all study measures at specified time points will receive a USD$120 Amazon eGift Card.

The therapy group will be conducted via HIPAA-compliant Google Meet. Please join us if you: 1) are age 40 or older; 2) live with the stroke survivor and spend at least 70% of your time on caregiving activities; 3) have been caring for the stroke survivor for at least 6 months, including 2 months post-discharge; 4) do not have any active suicidal or homicidal ideation; 5) are not currently receiving psychological intervention; and 6) have access to computer or tablet with web camera and internet connection. There will be a 20-minute screening session (via Google Meet) to determine your eligibility for participation.
