Invitation to Participate in ReStoreD: A Resilience-Building Program for Couples Coping with Stroke

The ReStoreD study (Resilience after Stroke in Dyads) is an NIH-funded research study from the University of Utah that supports couples navigating life after stroke. We’re inviting stroke survivors and their partners to take part in a remote 8-week program designed to strengthen emotional well-being, improve coping, and support relationship health.

Each week, participants complete short activities at home—together and individually–that use positive psychology skills such as gratitude, savoring, acts of kindness, goal setting, and strengthening connection. Activities take about one hour per week and are supported with a mailed booklet, online resources, and weekly reminders.

Participation involves four online surveys over six months in addition to the 8-week program. Each partner receives a $50 Amazon gift card after completing each survey (up to $200 per person).

All participation is online and from home. Eligible couples will be randomly assigned to either begin the program right away or after an 8-week waitlist period. Everyone who enrolls gets to participate in the program.
