Patient and Caregiver Community Advisory Board Member: Description of Role

The ACCTiVATE study team at UCSF is looking for 8-10 patients and caregivers to join our Community Advisory Board (CAB) to help guide our research.

The study is called ACCTiVATE, short for Achieving Chronic Care Equity by Leveraging the Telehealth Ecosystem, and it’s supported by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) / National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD). Our goal is to improve and reduce disparities in care for people living with diabetes and high blood pressure in the San Francisco Department of Public Health.

Description of Role:
As a CAB member, you’ll work with the study team, sharing your personal experience and wisdom to help with the study design, carrying out the study, how we understand our results, and how we share those results to others. No research experience is needed, and you will be compensated for your time – we will support you every step of the way. This is a chance to learn about research and make sure the study focuses on
patients, making a real impact. You will be a partner as part of the research team, not a research study participant.
