Family Caregiver Alliance (FCA)
FCA support and assists families and caregivers through education, advocacy and services. In addition to providing training to technical assistance to California’s Caregiver Resource Centers, FCA hosts the National Center on Caregiving (NCC). The NCC serves as a central source of information on caregiving and long-term care issues and works to advance policies and programs for caregivers in every state in the country.

Alaska Medicaid Personal Care Services Program
Alaska’s Medicaid Personal Care Services Program provides consumer direction, which allows the care recipient to choose, train, supervise, and fire their own personal care assistant. Friends and certain family members are eligible to be hired. This program assists seniors and people with disabilities with daily living activities such as eating, dressing, and toileting, as well as meal preparation and medication assistance.

Alaskans Living Independently (ALI) Medicaid Waiver
The Alaskans Living Independently (ALI) Medicaid Waiver provides assistance to seniors and disabled adults and their caregiver by the means of respite care, adult day care, consumer direction, and home modifications.
There is a waitlist based on those most in need.

Alaska Family Caregiver Support Program (FCSP)
FCSP services for family caregivers are provided through state Commission on Aging and Division of Senior and Disabilities Service include: – Information – Assistance – Individual counseling, support groups and caregiver training – Respite care – Limited supplemental services, such as transportation and home modifications. Can I Get Help While Living In My Home?
Adult Day Services – Provider Directory
Day care services at a center for adults with impairments, primarily, Alzheimer’s Disease or Related Disorders, provided in a protective group setting that is facility-based. Therapeutic and social activities are designed to meet and promote the client’s level of functioning through individual plans of care. Adult Day services provide support, respite and education for families and other caregivers, provide opportunities for social interaction and serve as an integral part of the aging network.

Personal Care Assistant (PCA) Program – Agency-Based or Consumer-Directed Options
A state program that provides home care services to older adults and people with disabilities who live in their own home or community. Program participants can either receive services through an agency or they can chose the Consumer Directed PCA Program, where they manage their own services by selecting, hiring, and supervising their own home care worker, which could be a family member or friend (but not a spouse, legal guardian or sole Power of Attorney).
